Chavalit Frederick Tsao is the fourth-generation steward of TPC (Tsao Pao Chee), formally known as IMC Pan Asia Alliance, a purpose-led profit, family business. TPC has its humble beginnings along the Huangpu River in Shanghai during the late Qing Dynasty. It has flourished by continuously evolving to serve the needs of the eras.
Chavalit witnessed the rise and the fall of the Asian economic miracle and saw the damage that irresponsible economic growth was inflicting on society when things fell apart. He looked deeply into wisdom of ancient practices and modern science to find the solutions to our challenges today.
Chavalit founded East West Cultural Development Centre in 1995, to research on globalisation & sustainability, and societal & management issues. The Centre has published over 40 Chinese and English language books. Today, it has evolved to be known as OCTAVE Institute.
Add Value to Life
Chavalit discovered that the principle behind sustainability is oneness, and our purpose for being is to “Add Value to Life.” Everything is systemic and all change need to be coherent to align towards oneness.
Chavalit’s vision is to have a platform to share the dividends of his research with all that are seeking the wisdom that would guide them in the Well-Being Era.

OCTAVE Institute was originally founded to self-administer the discoveries and insights of Chavalit into his own business. Today, we are ready to be your culture consultant, having learnt from our own transformation experience. Our work is supported by a unique learning system, with our own systemic coaching & healing approach, developed from fusion of ancient practices, backed by modern science.
OCTAVE Institute is Chavalit’s trailblazing vessel that would serve as a beacon to call on and guide business leaders on their journey into the Well-being era, one based on collaboration and co-creation.
